Care of The Pieces

At Jazmín González durability is very important, therefore each of our pieces is handmade using the best materials, such as high-quality genuine leather.

All our pieces come with Special Packaging that is according to their own characteristics that seek to protect them at all times from dust, humidity, friction (generated by touching with other materials) and even time.

How to keep your pieces Jazmín González safe and clean?

You will receive our shoes in a high resistant special box that will help you keep them away from direct light, also the wrapping is anti-acid preventing moisture build up. You can also put the wrapping inside the shoes or accessories so that they do not lose its shape. 

Some of our accessories and shoes, such as boots and booties, come with dust covers, made of an exquisite textile fiber with a soft interior that protects the pieces; that way we make sure the JG ownership experience will be a long lasting one. 

Being designer pieces is important that the Client keeps them clean and treats them with extra care when storing them. Here we provide you with general information, as a courtesy, for cleaning any leather item, which you can also apply to your JG pieces. The responsability for the care and duration of the piece falls exclusively on the client. 

The pieces should be kept away from contact with fragrances, oils, solvents and water, including rain. In case of the latter, let them dry naturally without receiving a direct source of heat. 

Depending on the texture and color of the leather used in the piece, a specific type of cleaning is required, which is why they should not be cleaned with soap and water. 

You should always use the appropriate product for each type of leather, reading the instructions carefully and testing first on a small area of ​​the piece that is inconspicuous to test the color fastness.

Metallic leather

It is a leather that uses a laminate to provide it`s smooth and shiny surface. It is a delicate leather that, due to its sensitivity, can be easily marked if we do not take care of it and store it properly. We recommend keeping them in your dust bag or box to avoid contact with other sharp or abrasive surfaces. You can remove dirt with a clean, dry and soft cloth. No leather care products should be applied to this type of leather, we recommend taking it to a designer footwear specialist.

Other leathers 

Leather naturally wrinkles, softens, and gives way with use, because it´s an organic material, but it will not fade or break. Therefore, neutral leather moisturizers must be used to maintain the softness of the leather, also cleaning it with a dry and soft cloth will suffice. 

As for suede, renobuck and nubuck leather, they could absorb or transfer color during the first uses. It´s recommended to clean them regularly to reduce these effects, with a brush with soft and short bristles. Moisturizers are not used in this type of leather. To maintain the beauty of its color, in this type of leather, it is recommended to store it away from direct or sunlight.
